Koda's Choice is a 501c(3) pending non-profit that specializes in the placement of trained service animals with veterans suffering from PTSD & traumatic brain injuries. We are fully funded by the generosity of those who want to support our veteran community. Donations help defray the costs associated with providing care, food, shelter and training for our dogs.Our mission is to help improve the lives of military veteran's suffering from PTSD through the power of canine companionship, so that they no longer have to suffer in silence. The brotherhood that people in the military have doesn't end when they no longer wear the uniform, and our goal is to ensure that no one is left behind. DID YOU KNOW?• Research has found that animal assisted therapy and PTSD service dogs can have profound impacts on the lives of the veterans they touch. By providing companionship, loyalty and security, they are able to help assuage the various emotional and psychological difficulties associated with PTSD. • Service dogs can do things like initiate reminders for medication, retrieve medication and other personal items, and even call emergency services by using a K-9 phone.• A 2009 US military survey reported that a whopping 82% of individuals suffering from PTSD noted a reduction in their symptoms once paired with a service dog. 40% noted that their medication intake decreased after partnership with a service dog.We understand that the battle doesn't always end when soldiers leave the field. We're here to make a difference in the lives of military veteran's by matching them with loving and affectionate life companions.
