Welcome to Kogiito. This is a first-of-its-kind platform aiming to make consciousness accessible to students as young as high school. Up until now, consciousness is often taught at the university, if not graduate school, level. Because of the increasingly important role, consciousness research will play over the next decade and beyond, we believe it's critical that early access to consciousness education is widely available, which is why we created this research community. Our community consists of several student-led subcommunities that have individualized research focuses, ranging from philosophy to quantum mechanics. During the research phase, students will form foundational knowledge through readings and subcommunity discussions and gain research experience as they begin working on the project type that the group decides on. A project type can be a paper to be published, a short film for school, a design for an experiment...etc. Objectives: - Introduce students to the field of consciousness - Develop successful research subcommunites in which every member is involved and included. - Prepare students with tangible and real-word research skills.- Deepen understanding of mind-research applications. - Increase diversity in the consciousness domain. - Introduce students to industry experts and academic leaders in consciousness.- Form a global cohort of future mind-brain and consciousness researchers.At Kogiito, curiosity, effort, and engagement are valued over perfection. Our main ask is that you are engaged and do your best. Consciousness is difficult, and we do not expect students to master it on the first - or even second or third - try.
