Kotivara is a family-owned salami and sausage producer in Oulu, northern Finland. The company was founded in 1943, and since then we have produced salamis for our customers both in Finland and abroad.Our hometown, Oulu, is 200 km south of the Arctic Circle and the city is surrounded by clean water from the Baltic Sea from the west as well as large forest areas in the east. The city is covered with snow approx. six months each year.Our salamis and sausages are undergoing a 5-week ripening, where the salamis are dried in clean and dry Nordic air. Thus, the salamis are drained for water: the taste is powerful and balanced, and the feeling of salt and fat in the mouth is completely different from other manufacturers' products.The smoked flavor of the products is a little more powerful than in other products - we use real elm from the nearby island of Hailuoto.All our salamis are without lactose, gluten, milk, mono-sodium glutamate and artificial dyes.
