The name "Kowloon" is thought to have originated when the last emperor of the Song dynasty passed through the area during his flight from the Mongols. He is said to have counted eight pagodas on the peninsula and commented that there must therefore be eight dragons there - but was reminded that since he himself was present there must be nine. "Kowloon" is thus derived from the Cantonese word "gau", meaning nine, and "long", for dragon.Kowloon Restaurant was established in 1975 and has been serving it's customers with the same dedication over the years.Like many of the world's older cultures, China has developed a distinctive and celebrated cuisine. Also like many of the earth's time-honored nations, China reveres its tradition of artful food preparation and luxurious dining. There are many regional varieties of cooking in a country as big as China. At Kowloon Restaurant, you'll meet the great spectrum of Asian taste treats. Each has a flavor of its own: Szechuan food is hot and spicy; Honan cooking is spicy, sweet & sour; Peking meals emphasize delicacy of flavor; Cantonese is a combination of subtle flavors and stir-fried dishes. On behalf of our whole staff, we would like to invite you for a dining opportunity at Kowloon Restaurant.
