Krey Schiffahrts GmbH was founded in 1992 by ship-building engineer Mr. Georg Krey as sole shareholder.In the beginning, the company managed 3 vessels which were set out for trading in the European coastal waters. In 1995, the Company moved to Leer, Ostfriesland in order to jointly manage, with another maritime service provider, further 25 units of seagoing vesselsIn 1999, Krey Schiffahrts GmbH ordered 4 geared multi-purpose vessels with 8.250tdw. The last unit was delivered at the end of 2000. As from this day, the companies together managed a strong fleet of over 30 vessels.While heading into the new millenium, Mr. Georg Krey was co-founder of the cargo brokerage company EMS ConBulk Befrachtungs GmbH with it´s headquarters in Leer, Ostfriesland. In 2002, Krey ordered further units to grow the existing portfolio. A series of self designed MPP heavylift carrierswith a cargo carrying capacity of abt. 12.750tdw and 2x 120ts cranes were ordered in China. Two of these units joined the fleet in 2004. Another sister ship with increased lifting capacity of 2x 180ts built on Chinese Taizhou Sanfu Shipyard entered the fleet in 2012.Today, the Group placed orders for new MPP Heavy Lift Vessels in China. The new ECO-Trader is setting a new milestone for the Krey Group and shall continue the long history of successful shipbuilding and Shipmanagement.
