I'm in the business of clarifying, tightening, revamping, and reworking language: polishing punctuation, mending misuse, touching up typos, and avoiding annoying alliteration! I have high attention to detail, a sincere love of language, and a fast and reliable turnaround. I am accredited by the University of California, Berkeley as a professional copyeditor. My copyediting services include correcting indisputable errors in grammar, syntax, and usage; pointing out sentences that are convoluted and suggesting revisions; querying facts that seem incorrect and attempting verification; and suggesting alterations of structure and organization where advisable.For longer manuscripts or serials, I keep a style sheet in order to ensure mechanical consistency throughout by recording decisions about capitalization, punctuation, word usage, treatment of numbers, etc. This maintains consistency and accuracy across the manuscript or articles and also provides a valuable reference for future editing or additional documents. For all other conventions, I follow Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and the Chicago Manual of Style, unless otherwise instructed.My preferred method of working is with Microsoft Word with the Track Changes feature turned on. This allows you to view the document with all changes showing, including deletions and additions, and it also provides a final, clean view.I also provide transcribing and proofreading services, as well as original web content.As an academic consultant, I draw upon my experience at four different universities, including a four-year liberal arts bachelor's program, one professional sequence in editing completed remotely, and two highly international master's programs.
