Krönleins Brewery is the oldest family-owned brewery in Sweden and one of the most renowned brewers in the world. Established in 1790 and located on the Swedish west coast since 1836, Krönleins specializes in lager type beers-- pilsner and dunkel--and has received many quality awards in the Brewing Industry International Awards (BIIA) and the DLG. The Krönlein family has a brewing tradition that stretches six generations back in time. In 1790, a Krönlein family member marked the start of the legacy and began brewing beer in Mainstockheim, Germany. The original brewing methods introduced 200 years ago have since provided the heart of Krönleins' brewing methodology. The will to maintain and honor the craftsmanship in brewing every beer to its right strength and flavor using only natural ingredients, is central to Krönleins' brewing philosophy. We have taken a firm step away from commercial, artificial brewing methods and we are very proud to operate under the Naturbryggt® certificate. Krönleins believe in brewing as an uninterrupted process in which each beer reaches its optimal state without additives, preservatives, and water dilution. Our philosophy gives the beer an unbeatable character, a complex depth of tastes, and an outstanding drinking experience. Krönleins is the world's most successful non-German brewery in what is known to be the strictest quality assessment of beer, the German DLG. In 2009, Krönleins was the first ever non-German brewery to be awarded with the Gold ‘Preis der Besten,' the most sought after and prestigious prize in the DLG for 10 consecutive years of brewing mastery. We hold several prizes from the International Brewing Awards—The World Championships for Beer—with the latest addition to our prize collection in 2013. The successes of Krönleins show that a Swedish artisan brewery can meet and even surpass the standards of the international brewing elite.
