E-learning - Utrecht, Utrecht, Netherlands
Kucheza develops programmes and tools that enable smallholder farmers in developing countries to move from (semi) subsistence-oriented farming to increasingly commercial farming. Kucheza's tools are used by NGO's, farmer cooperatives and value chain partners to train farmers on agronomics, business management, and cooperative entrepreneurship, and let them to develop an entrepreneurial mind-set. Central to the Kucheza approach is playful learning through digital games. As they mimic real-life farming business situations and challenges, games are very powerful training tools. At the same time, games are relatively easy to scale in terms of content and number of players. They generate a range of player data, which provide detailed insight in individual progress as well as in patterns in behaviour and learning outcomes at aggregated level. Kucheza works with NGO's, training institutes and a range of value chain actors, from cooperatives to input providers to financial service providers. By bundling Kucheza training and tools with other services for smallholder farmers to increase productivity, decrease risk, and engage in more formal value chains, Kucheza facilitates more resilient, productive and inclusive farmers and farming systems.Watch the trailer of our digital game Farming Forward: https://youtu.be/Bt2Ak2fz_fQOur expertise: game-based learning | entrepreneurship | cooperative business models | smallholder farming | serious-game development | access to finance
