Kutz Design Collective is a grassroots initiative created by seven graduates of the Ontario College of Art and Design in 2009. The collective was formed as a response to the stale impact of the current design market. With an industry full of generic designs, we find that working in a team advances our individual creative potentials to a higher degree. With backgrounds inGraphic Design, Web Design, Industrial Design, Environmental Design and Computer Science, Kutz has all the assets that make a design group whole. We are a collective that hopes to defy the negative stereotypes of typical design and challenge the notions of what possibilities design can propose.We are individuals with an edge for integrating design into everyday things, for more than just function and purpose; since emotional connection and experience are the keys to living an enjoyable life. By focusing on connecting and broadening outlooks, we hope to re-define current aspects of what we know as 'design'. In doing so, there is a great opportunity to negate the fear of conceptual design. With user-experience as the central focus, we are able allocate emotional harmony between users, emotions, experience and design.
