What is VoxPop?The platform makes it very easy for the audience, contributors and hosts to make recordings in studio quality from different locations, such as at home using a mobile device. It is available as an App (Android and iOs) or API (which can plug into existing platforms).VoxPopIn its most basic form, your audience download the app and then programme makers and newsrooms ask them questions via it. The audience record themselves replying, in studio quality, and this is pinged off to a Content Management System where you can listen to, download and see a short transcription too.Gone are hours of listening to poor quality phone messages. This audio can be used directly in live-to-air programming, to make packages and podcasts.It's how our early adopter clients - 1A, SciFri, All In (NPR syndicated shows) and Radio New Zealand (RNZ) are using it. It has been a boon for them in these Covid-19 times, with the voices of those at the heart of the pandemic reflected. And all from a safe distance.Remote Studio by VoxPopWe have also adapted the technology so programme makers and journalists can use it for much longer recordings.This version, VoxPop Studio, is being used by 14 community stations and the largest Pacific media outlet in New Zealand. They wanted to be able to make longer recordings from the field so people didn't have to share studio space. It will keep them safe and also save time and money.In this version we have the 15 stations in one app. You simply select the station you wish to contribute to. It has made the build super cheap, with a small additional monthly licence. This version can also be used to garner audience submissions.The APIThe API, meanwhile, offers a simple way for you to leverage existing platforms and their large, connected, audiences.
