La Colmena NYC, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2014 by a group of day laborers, domestic workers and professional allies to establish an independent, membership-based organization that fully represents the immigrant workforce in Staten Island, NY. La Colmena's mission is to empower the immigrant community through education, culture and economic development. The organizational goals are focused on three key priorities: immigrant workforce, community engagement and cultural organizing, in line with the priorities identified by our day laborer members, their families and the greater immigrant community in Staten Island.
