La Jolla Woman's Club was founded in 1892 as the Current Affairs Club and later re-named La Jolla Woman's Club. In 1912 philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps commissioned modern era architect, Irving Gill to design and build La Jolla Woman's Club at the corner of Silverado Street and Draper Avenue in La Jolla Village. The grounds were designed by Kate Sessions and the building is now considered by many historians and architects to be Irving Gill's architectural masterpiece. In addition to hosting a variety of activities for club members, the club for the past 25 years has hosted many weddings, non-profit fundraisers, lectures and private corporate events. With it's lush grounds, ocean view, and beautiful clubhouse, the club is a memorable location for special events.
