Label is an organisation that runs body positive performances. We believe in inclusivity, and the value of offering people a platform to share their stories and reflect on their identities. We began life as a body positive fashion show in St Andrews, Scotland. Our founder, Jo Boon, launched the show at her university town in April 2016, with an amazing team of 40 dedicated staff. The event was originally designed to reflect on gender, sexuality, mental and physical health; but as the models were selected and the project grew, more stories were shared and more identities explored. The project developed to become about body positivity more broadly. Label shows are designed to be inclusive, consent led projects, that give people the opportunity to share their beauty and amplify the many voices that have been ignored for too long. We now run a range of shows, all focused around artistic endeavor. Our first was a fashion show, and that will remain an annual event in our calendar, although we hope to be bringing body positive fashion shows to many more places soon. We also run art festivals and launched a theatre piece (Label : My Body) in December 2016. To keep you up to date with all our news, we run an online body positive magazine, Label : Press. Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do, so if you would like to run a body positive project under the Label brand, you need only get in contact and we will do our best to support you in every way we can. Please get in contact if you have any questions, or suggestions for the project. We are always looking to develop our events and would love to know what people think of our work. Equally, if you would like to get involved with Label then drop us a line.
