The Laboratory of Petroleum Economics of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro was created in 2017, under the coordination of Rosemarie Bröker Bone, powered by over than twenty years of experience on the energy industry owned by her. Nowadays, it has five other researchers and aims to analyze the national and international Oil and Gas industry since its beginning, in addition to the formation of the oil markup price and its derivatives, the creation and moves made by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the geopolitics of the demand, production and refining of oil, the mergers and acquisitions of the sector and the changes on the world energy matrix over the time.
