The researchers of this laboratory have focused their efforts on developing and testing HRM to obtain meaningful answers about their performance. Research was carried in multiple fields. The most relevant ones relate to a distinct and custom-designed fuel shape: Cascade Multistage Inpinging-Jet (CAMUI). This was overlapped by the production of several small size rockets. Most recently focus has been put into noteworthy hybrid rocket technology topics. As such, fuel regression and nozzle erosion investigations. These studies were conducted by experimentally testing small-sized HRMs.Promotion of the noticeable work done throughout the past years led the Laboratory of Space Systems to jump into the hybrid propulsion scene, contributing to establish partnerships with eminent institutions in Japan. These translates to funded major real space projects.
