Nonprofit Organization Management - Birkenhead, England, United Kingdom
Lairdside Communities Together (LCT) was established as a Community Development Trust in 1996 with objectives to promote, support and deliver regeneration, wealth, prosperity and economic well-being in Tranmere and Rock Ferry and across Wirral. In November 2009 the trust merged with Together Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder and took responsibility for delivery of its government funded regeneration programme. The programme provided the cornerstone for the future of LCT, to continue beyond its funding period. Plans were put in place to develop the organisation into a hub for community activity and community influence, community services and enterprise. The company owns and directly manages office and workshop accommodation worth over £1 million. LCT now operates without subsidy, with revenue generated through trading. Its trading areas include: Management and lettings of office and workshop space, as well as meeting and training facilities. Environmental Services - delivering contracted and responsive works throughout Wirral. Community and local capacity building, and projects – continuing the work delivered as a neighbourhood management pathfinder. Surplus from trading activities allows LCT to support the communities of Rock Ferry and Tranmere through community development, project and support work. LCT is a community owned company with a board of directors made up of a majority of local residents. We are expecting to obtain charitable status this year. Our longer term aim is to develop both our business activities and our community based core objectives - to improve the quality of life for people living and working in Tranmere and Rock Ferry.
