Lake Isle Details
Lake Isle is located on the only such Island in Kashmir valley. It is an historical(soon to become a heritage properity) location over 100 years old. It has on the east corner one of the oldest chinar estimated to be 450 years old and on of the largest chinars in kashmir. The Lake Isle was a very popular spot during world war II when the british and the American officers came to Kashmir For RR(rest and recreation).It was closed when and India and Pakistan fought over kashmir in 1947. The orginal building was expanded and renovated in 1979 /80 and again in 1998/1999. The future plan include developing a fish farm and a duck farm on the properity.
