Lakeside Legacy Foundation Details
The Lakeside Legacy Foundation is the founding organization which helped unify the community to save the historic Dole Mansion (circa 1865) and surrounding 10+ acres of open space, and ultimately convert the space into a community arts park. Established in 2001 by the Crystal Lake Jaycees, the Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation, Mayor Aaron Shepley, and many dedicated volunteers, through the financial support of thousands of community members, the Dole is home to the Lakeside Festival, Friday arts events, and much more.
