Preamble:We, the members of the Lambda Alliance at UC Merced, established to affirm the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Pansexual, Two-Spirit, Asexual, Omnisexual, Same-Gender-Loving, Straight Ally, and any further identities within the LGBTQ+ community, do adopt this constitution and subscribe to the regulations and policies of the University of California, Merced.Purpose: Lambda Alliance is a safe space for queer individuals to be themselves and utilize it as needed. As a registered club and organization, we celebrate the intersectionality of queer identity. In doing so, we advocate against oppressions to build towards queer liberation. We also provides the tools for straight allies to advocate alongside the queer community. We strengthen community partly by hosting social events and promoting learning opportunities. We recognize that individuals are at different moments in coming out to themselves and hope to support them in their journey.
