Lamina is pioneering a new generation of vision technology inspired by the structure and neural processing found in insect vision - "ommatidium". Ommatidium provides hyperacuity (sub-pixel) resolution) and instantaneous object detection and vector tracking (positioning, velocity and acceleration) at very low contrast limits. Lamina requires low computational burdens due to parallel processing at the sensor array in the analog domain, providing wide field of views. This dramatically lowers the size, weight, and power of the sensor and decision making components. Lamina's sensor technology is alled "Hypris" - hyperacuity intelligent sensors. Hypris allows early warning in threat detection, collision avoidance, and infrastructure fatigue or failure.
