Cesare Lampronti represents the third generation of an established family of art dealers. Founded in 1914 by his grandfather, over the years the gallery has specialised in Italian Old Master Paintings from the 17th and 18th Centuries, with particular focus on landscapes and still lives, ranging from Caravaggio and his followers to Canaletto and his school. In January 2013, a new gallery space opened in London, based in Duke Street, St James's. Cesare Lampronti became director of the gallery in 1961 and has since participated to the most prestigious Old Masters fairs throughout Europe. In Italy he takes part in the Biennale Internazionale di Roma and the Biennale Internazionale di Firenze, and abroad he showcases at TEFAF (The European Fine Art Fair) in Maastricht and Paris Tableau. Mr Lampronti is a member of the Italian Association of Art Dealers, for which he served as vice-president for 15 years, and of the French Syndicat National des Antiquaires.
