PURPOSE: The purpose of Lancaster County Department of Economic Development (LCDED) is to support and build the economic climate of Lancaster County in order to improve its economic future and quality of life for all. We develop and maintain an investment climate that is attractive both nationally and internationally as well as encourages the growth and sustainability of our existing industries. LCDED is a member of the Charlotte Regional Partnership, a nonprofit, public/private economic development organization representing the 16-county Charlotte Region. We incorporate the partnership between local government and the private sector functions for planning, business development, infrastructure construction, real estate development and finance.ABOUT LANCASTER COUNTY: Lancaster County is located in the north central area of South Carolina and is approximately 40 miles south of Charlotte, North Carolina and 60 miles north of Columbia, South Carolina. As South Carolina and the Charlotte Region's fastest growing county, we provide all the advantages of the state's pro-business climate with the excitement of the Charlotte metropolitan area.
