Land to Learn is a garden-based education and food justice organization that serves the mid-Hudson Valley region of New York. We strive to center social justice and environmental consciousness in the learning communities we co-create with students and other participants.Leadership Ladder is LtL's programmatic and org-culture framework which aims to generate food sovereignty and enhance equitable community outcomes by creating supportive learning environments and leadership opportunities as Hudson Valley children grow from young students to adults. Learn about the programs that make up our Leadership Ladder:SproutEd, our flagship program, continues to thrive going into its 10th year in public schools in Newburgh, Beacon, Kingston, and Garrison, NY. We integrate democratic education and experiential learning into the school day by building school vegetable gardens and teaching lessons, year-round, that educate k-2nd grade students in nutrition, cooking, plant science, ecology, and food systems. CropShop provides opportunities for our older elementary students to run their own farm stands in a comprehensive after-school program.Radicle Roots Teen & Young Adult Apprenticeship Program employs and trains youth to work throughout the summer, maintaining school gardens and leading activities for younger kids.GroundTruth Residential Program brings the benefits of gardening to youth and young adults in residential centers.Land to Learn Internships in Fundraising, Social Media, & Garden Management offer college students and other young adults training and work experience in the nonprofit sector.
