Lane United FC is a semi-pro soccer team playing in the Northwest Division of USL League Two (USL2). The team's home stadium is Civic Park (the former site of Civic Stadium) in Eugene, Oregon and the club draws most of its support from the Eugene-Springfield area. Founded in 2013, Lane United began its first season of Premier Development League (PDL) play in 2014 when they earned the award for "PDL Rookie Club of the Year." Following the 2014 season, LUFC forward Khiry Shelton was drafted second overall in the 2015 MLS draft by New York City FC. During the 2015 season, Lane United FC improved their standings and finished fifth overall in their division. Lane United forward Timmy Mueller received the PDL "Young Player of the Year" award at the end of the 2015 season and defender/midfielder Will Seymore was called up to play for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC II team. The club has seen consistent growth since its inception, both on the field and in fan support, and looks forward to continuing that trend in the coming years.
