Respite is a word which is not readily understood, yet one that continues to grow in people's consciousness as more and more families take on the critical responsibilities of caring for a loved one with a life time disability, or age-related conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Care-giving can be a tender and loving gift of self and at the same time disconcerting and exhausting.Respite is defined as a "short break." This is what Helping Hands Respite Care offers through our care programs. We pride ourselves on hiring and training quality care staff whom you can trust to keep your loved one, interested, engaged, and safe while you have a short break.Helping Hands Respite Care offers care programs which span several generations. The programs include: 1. The Adult Day Services Program for adults and seniors with disabilities or age-related challenges such as Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's, and Dementia2. The Adult In-Home Program for adults with disabilities needing care at home3. The Child In-Home Program for younger clients with disabilities needing care at home4. The Weekend Respite House offers around the clock weekend care offered for up to 4 clients (up to 18 years old) per weekend. This affords the family caregiver the opportunity for an extended break
