Internet - Miami, Florida, United States
Latin Venture was founded in 1999 as an entrepreneurial startup focused on the Internet technology, telecommunications and venture capital funding in Latin America. Developed as a full-service conference, networking and information enterprise, Latin Venture hosted a series of nine consecutive B2B Internet and technology conference events and "venture market" forums throughout the region. At the height of Latin America's dot-com boom of 1999-2001, Latin Venture was one of the premier sources of online information and B2B networking events for Latin America's technology, telecoms and venture capital markets. Latin Venture-produced conferences included: Latin Venture 2000 (Mar. 2000, Miami), Latin Venture B2B (July 2000, Miami), Latin Venture Brazil (Dec. 2000, Sao Paulo), Vamos Wireless! 2001 (Feb. 2001, Coral Gables, FL), Convergência 2001 Brasil (May 2001, Sao Paulo), e-Volution 2001 Argentina (May 2001, Buenos Aires), e-Volution 2001 México (June 2001, Mexico City), Wireless Summit México (Nov. 2001, Mexico City), and Logística México (May 2002, Mexico City). The company secured early-stage venture capital funding from investors that included Motorola's Dorado Ventures and the WPP Group. The company ceased operations in mid-2002.
