Latincouver is the Latin American plaza in B.C, a local reproduction of this traditional Latin American site. True to its inspiration, Latincouver website (www.latincouver.ca) functions as a real and online Plaza Latina and has become the leading "destination" for Latino immigrants seeking information and support in making the transition to Canadian life.Latincouver acts as a bridge not only among members of the various Latin communities in the Lower Mainland and Canada, but also between these communities and Latin enthusiasts seeking to enrich their lives through the Latin American culture. Local and Latino businesses looking to expand their markets are joining the party too. Members share information and resources through business listings, sport and cultural events, dance and language classes, and even their very own Latin American "buy and sell".In addition to the website, Latincouver also brings people together the old fashioned way, in a physical plaza, face to face. Over the formation as a non-profit organization, Latincouver has built up a network of volunteers and, through the efforts of volunteers and supporters, Latincouver organizes monthly business networking events, seminars and cultural events designed to introduce the Latin American communities and their culture and businesses to greater Vancouver.
