Laura Guido-Clark is the principal of Laura Guido-Clark Design, LLC, a multiple disciplinary design studio that specializes in improving the human experience – through color, materials, finish and pattern. Her insights and honed process have defined her role as an experience consultant to help her clients connect with their consumers in a meaningful way. Laura has developed an alternative to traditional trend forecasting called Climatology®, which focuses more on why each trend exists. Climatology is a comprehensive temperature reading of the political, social, emotional and economic influences impacting consumers, allowing her to create strategies and inspired design solutions that anticipate needs and resonate with the human spirit. Her ability to translate those influences into prescient forecasting and concrete applications of color and finish has helped companies such as Herman Miller, HP, Samsung and Toyota design products that resonate with consumers and succeed in competitive markets. Her textile and pattern design include work for HBF, Pallas, Carnegie, FLOR and Uncommon. As a result of her expertise, Laura has been invited to speak both nationally and internationally on design and the creative process, and was an expert design blogger for Fast Company magazine. In 2011, Laura fulfilled a lifelong dream and founded Project Color Corps™, a nonprofit organization dedicated to painting urban neighborhoods with color and pattern that impart positive messages of optimism and hope.Laura has a B.F.A. in Interior Design from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Prior to founding her own firm, Laura served as the Vice President of Design for Deepa Textiles in San Francisco, and taught color & materials at CCA and University of California at Berkeley.Specialties: Climatology (Trend Analysis)Color, Material, Finish and Pattern DesignTextile DesignBrand Development and Strategy
