Laurengelhall L.P. was founded in 2020 as the successor to Lauren Ralph Daggett Partners (LRD), a privately-held investment partnership which was founded exactly a decade before in 2010. Founded by "investorpreneur" Bruce J. Lauren, LRD was both an investor in independent luxury consumer retail brands, an art investor, and a provider of business and advisory consulting services, all under one roof. By 2016, LRD's 2 other founding partners sold their interests in the partnership and by 2020, senior employees Mike Engelhorn and Logan C.E. Hall were promoted to partners, resulting in the firm re-establishing itself as Laurengelhall, a portmanteau of the partners' names. Before the new entity, LRD exited the majority of its investments, most of which were managed through a 2015 vintage fund. Many existing investors were happy to reinvest in the new partnership to seize the once in a lifetime buying opportunities exclusive to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
