With a lifelong passion for jewellery, Laurie McLachlan has been making timeless pieces with a contemporary flair for more than 20 years. Play of colour and shape is at the heart of Laurie's unique designs. Prior to opening her studio in Oakvlle, Laurie spent time in the Arctic teaching jewellery design. "I love to travel in search of unique gems that speak to me. It's usually a conversation in shape and colour. When I see that special stone that reveals its character to me, I am inspired to create a piece of jewellery that tells the story of that stone and my client." Known for her stunning arrangements of pearls and semi-precious stones with high karat gold, Laurie's contemporary pieces will become your classics. Her favourites are luscious combinations of pink and green tourmaline, aquamarine, and South Sea Pearls designed into bracelets, necklaces, stacking rings and earrings. Laurie's gift for bringing together uncommon stones and unique design has won her a loyal and discerning clientele. Her pieces are for the woman who looks for singular works that make a bold and enduring statement. As well as designing collections of handmade jewellery, Laurie loves to work directly with clients designing wedding and engagement rings. Sourcing ethical stones has meant that Laurie is now incorporating Canadian diamonds into many of her engagement, commitment, and eternity rings.
