The Lavit was originally set up by a group of artists, in 1963, wanting to promote an interest in art. Currently, the gallery shows the work of over 200 artists. The gallery has a long and rich history of enabling the public to view and buy art and has over the years, introduced many new artists to Cork Audiences, whose work they might not have otherwise seen. As well as showing the work of national and international artists, the gallery has promoted and encouraged lots of emerging artists especially through its annual Student of the Year award. Our 800 square feet of exhibition space spans two floors and incorporates a wide range of art styles, ranging from the traditional to the latest contemporary styles.The gallery is a registered charity and is a not for profit organisation.Gallery opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday 10.30am to 6.00pm
