Lawyers in the Soup Kitchen (LISK) was founded by Twanieka Alcindor in 2014.LISK was established with the purpose of offering free and impartial weekly legal advice to the local community of Brixton in simple legal matters and provides legal assistance to those who cannot afford legal representation in areas such as: Crime, family, employment, civil disputes, housing, benefits and immigration. LISK has over 16 volunteers that includes law students and practitioners which are available every Thursday evening from 6pm to 8:00pm at the Brixton Soup Kitchen, Coldharbour Lane to help offer free legal advice to anyone who needs it.
