Lazarou Joinery has been proudly owned by Jim & Debbie Lazarou since 1988.Jim had spent 12 years prior training and operating as a building contractor. Pursuing his passion, Jim began making custom furnitures in Cedar, Mahogany and Rosewood.Jim's successful furniture production, from such a small operation, brought growth and recognition. The early 90's saw Jim & Debbie manufacture furniture under their "Country Made Furniture" imprint, to sate demand from prominent retail chains such as Harvey Norman and Forty Winks. At operation's peak, 33 employees were making heritage-style bedroom furniture, all created from Jim's designs. The experience gained during this period was immeasurable, especially in meeting deadlines, portraying client requirements and meeting client expectations. Pieces were skilfully manufactured and innovatively finished. Jim's unique heritage designs were the distinction that created a niche in the marketplace.Eventually, imported competition forced a shift in business model. They have returned to their origins, making high quality custom made joinery and specialised furniture. Furniture's legacy paid dividends with more powerful machinery than typical joinery shops, and the ability to fabricate and finish all of their own work. Where many kitchen manufacturers buy in finished items (doors, mouldings and benchtops) Jim has the capacity in-house.Lazarou Joinery now supply custom made kitchens, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, laundries, office fit-outs, bookcases, entertainment units and media room options to consumers in the Blue Mountains, Central West of NSW, and the ACT. Demanding clients come to Lazarou's to take advantage of Jim's proven eye for colonial designs, and his factory's capacity to produce a wide variety of products, to the highest standard of fit and finish.
