Throughout high school, I baked cakes with friends for something fun to do on weekends. After switching to an Entrepreneurship major, the idea of Lb Cakes started to come to reality in February 2011. Beginning summer 2011, I started taking cake decorating classes at Michaels. I enjoyed it so much that I began working as a cake decorator in the SuperTarget bakery. Having worked there for two years and graduating from UND with majors in Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship, I moved to a full time job on campus. This has given me the confidence and financial stability to pursue Lb Cakes as a real business, part time. I found a rental kitchen in Fargo, ND and in June 2014 was able to register in the state of North Dakota as a licensed bakery. In December 2014, I trademarked my name and logo and business has been booming since. I have a great support group backing me up and pushing me every step of the way to keep me pursuing my dream of owning my own bakery someday.
