It all started in 1958 when the head of our family, Jack Karanta, began modeling shirts and suits with his friends. Sewing had always been a passion of his and it was his mission to make quality clothes at affordable prices. In 1960, Jack joined the clothing industry to develop his craft and gain a better understanding of the market. It was in 1969, at the age of 29, that Jack officially began the Caranta label and opened our first men's clothing factory in Damascus, Syria. Years later, Jack opened our families first boutique with the help of his sons.Our family of six children made the move to Montreal in 1992, with the dream to grow our love for sewing. For many years we had been working with only five sewing machines in our garage at home. After eight years of hard work, we opened the doors to our first Montreal manufacture which had over 160 employees.Our family continues to pursue our dreams to this day. We are proud to announce our newest family project, from the third generation of our family. We have created Le Suit Shop, a mobile suit experience that brings our retail store to your doorstep. We deliver an impeccable service with a collection of suits that are combined with superior quality fabric from Turkey. Along with exclusive lines of shirts, belts, bracelets, ties & handkerchiefs.Karanta is more than just a brand, it's a family story.
