Points are awarded by our Super League match-report writers, at each of the regular season's Super League matches, on a 3, 2, 1 basis to the best, second best and third best player in each match. The title award winner receives a cheque for £2,000 plus a solid gold medal engraved with the image of the iconic Albert Goldthorpe, who was perhaps the greatest player of his generation, captaining the great Hunslet club of its day to victory in All Four Cups in the 1907/8 season.
