A private speech-language pathology company established by Jeff Lear and Justine Hamilton in 2000. Lear Communication has 10 speech-language pathologists, 3 communicative disorders assistants and 2 administrative staff working at clinics in Hamilton, St. Catharines and Waterloo. Our award winning clinic and therapists have a wide range of expertise with adults and children with Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Voice Disorders, Stuttering and Preschool Speech and Language, Language-Based Learning Difficulties and Swallowing Disorders. Lear clients succeed working with clinicians that have over 90 years of combined experience who continue to learn with postgraduate certifications in Cognitive-Communication Disorders, Hanen, PROMPT Technique, Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol, Lee Silverman Voice Treatment, Augumentative & Alternative Communication Aids and iPad Applications. Lear staff are leaders in the field and present regularly within and across health and legal fields on stroke, ABI, AAC and medico-legal and insurance related topics. Our clinic is the only Ontario practice with two OSLA Honours of the Association Recipients, recognizing outstanding contribution to the field of speech-language pathology. Our clinic has the most recipients of the Ontario Graduate Scholarship. academic awards (multiple Gold Medal and Highest Standing awards) and our staff have been Teaching Assistants, Instructors and Clinical Educators for speech-language and communicative disorders students at Western University, the University of Toronto and Georgian College. Our clinical staff are registered members of the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario, Speech and Audiology Canada, The Ontario Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists and the American Speech and Hearing Association.
