Learning Home Volunteers' is a non profit. We believe every child, regardless of economic circumstances, should get an equal start at school. Data shows that kindergarten readiness is the number one indicator of future academic success. Low-income children start kindergarten 18 months to 24 months behind and many do not catch up.Learning Home Volunteers works with underserved families with children ages 2 to 5 to help prepare the children for kindergarten. Being ready provides the child with the same opportunity for success at school as their peers in other economic circumstances. Our program works with the child's first and who will be their longest teachers, the parents. Through training, we show the families the power of play and help them find their power as educators. We equip them with books and open ended learning materials. We connect them to staff, educators, and other families on the same journey with as they are.
