L_rn features up-to-the-minute information and expert advice for parent, educator, or child services providers. Created in cooperation with trusted learning experts and researchers, and experienced parents and teachers, L_rn has assembled the features, tools and resources to enhance learning at home, in school and throughout neighborhoods. By tuning in to the latest innovations in learning and putting them into the context of daily experience, research in child development, neuroscience, psychology, health and medicine is translated into a new field, the learning sciences, to help inform all those involved in raising children to succeed. L_rn is being developed by a consortium of founding institutions and their representative members including the Johns Hopkins University, Temple University, Harvard University, University of Delaware, the Families and Work Institute and the Maryland Institute College of Art.
