With a team of over 150 developers, LearnStream was recognized as a leading high-tech company designing and developing high quality e-learning customized solutions for clients in North America and Europe. Although the company focused originally on IT training solutions, it later developed a client base in financial services, pharmaceuticals, international development, and defense. LearnStream headquarters were established in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, and a US subsidiary operated in Reston, VA, just outside Washington DC. One of the highest recognitions for the company was winning the Canadian New Media Company of the Year award in 2000. Collecting many awards for its outstanding work includes numerous Cindy awards, KIRA Award, K. C. Irving Quality Award, and a number of Multimedia Producer awards. Company president Ken Reimer, and vice president Phil Lambert founded the company through a leveraged managment buyout in 1998, taking the company private. LearnStream was purchased in 2005 by Vitesse Learning who operated the company subsequently for a number of years. Vitesse eventually closed all its e-learning operations.
