The Lebanon Mountain Trail (LMT) is the first long-distance hiking trail in Lebanon. It extends from Andqet in the north of Lebanon to Marjaayoun in the south, a 470-km path that crosses 75 towns and villages, 570-2,073 meters above sea level. The LMT showcases the natural beauty and cultural wealth of Lebanon's mountains and brings communities closer together. The trail is also an economic lifeline as it supports a network of tourism providers and activities in remote mountain areas. Every year, more than 50,000 visitors walk on the LMT including Lebanese and foreign hikers.Trail distance 470 km Number of trail sections 27Distance per section 10-24 kmElevation profile 570-2,073 mThe Trail crosses:75 towns and villages1 World Heritage Site2 Biosphere Reserves3 Protected AreasThe Lebanon Mountain Trail Association was established on October 31, 2007 with the following objectives (Attestation No. 234/a.d. dated October 2007):1.
