Riding bikes is one of my greatest passions so the decision to begin coaching was a no-brainer. I enjoy passing my knowledge onto other athletes to help them achieve their cycling goals, just like past coaches have done for me. The impact a good coach can have on an athletes life is paramount, it's not just about riding bikes, and it feels great to return the favor. Over a decade of racing, training, and mechanics experience combined with an Honors Degree from Queen's University in the Life Sciences provides me with an extensive knowledge base to properly support athletes and provide the guidance they need to succeed. I have had the pleasure of coaching some of the most elite athletes in Canada. Some of my experience includes: Team Hardwood Next Wave (Previously, Team Hardwood Trek)One of Canada's top development teams focused on bringing young cyclists to the next level. Team Hardwood is the Alma Mater to many of the worlds best Canadian cyclists, and I myself was part of this program as a youth. I later coached the program for 5 seasons teaching young athletes from ages 6-16, the skills and discipline required to be an exception mountain bike racer and person. We actively trained and raced together in addition to having technical development training camps to focus on the specifics of skill and fitness development. UBC Cycling TeamOne of the strongest competitors on the Northwest side of North America, this road focused team of cyclists is truly remarkable. They actively train and compete in local events across British Columbia in various disciplines from Enduro Mountain Biking to Cyclocross, but their primary focus is on the Northwestern Cycling Collegiate Conference (NWCCC) where they face-off against some of the strongest collegiate road cyclists in the country. I am responsible for assisting in the development of athlete fitness, technique/skill, and strategy in preparation for their NWCCC race season which takes place in Northwestern USA.
