LEDA Australasia is the exclusive agent for LEDA Werk GmbH & Co.'s range of beautiful cast iron fireplaces. LEDA Australasia is currently focussing on our range of gorgeous outdoor, garden and patio fires. We are seeking sophisticated, design-centric boutique retailers that want to grow an under-serviced market segment. # What's Special About LEDA? # LEDA products are made in a state-of-the-art foundry in northern Germany. With a 146 year heritage of producing the finest cast iron heating products, LEDA is a word class manufacturer. Quality is key with LEDA, and every component is hand-finished and individually inspected. The garden fires that we are currently focussing on are excellent examples of the quality of that can be expected from us. Both the rectangular Feuerbox and the cylindrical Feuerturm are substantial pieces that feature elegant design features and superlative engineering. These pieces weigh around 40kg and are coated in an extremely high quality, high temperature resistant enamel. These will outlast most other options on the market. These products are not the cheap, one-season, pressed metal products presented by mass-retailers nor are they supposedly high-end rusted steel plate products. LEDA garden fires are substantial, robust and place a premium on clever, aestheically pleasing design. In short, they are the perfect companion to your curated outdoor living space. # Is Burning Wood Bad? # No. Responsibly sourced firewood from sustainable sources can release less carbon dioxide into the environment than any other source of heat energy. Firewood from plantation sources is actually carbon positive - they absorb more carbon than they release through burning. We strongly recommend buying your firewood from a local member of the Australian Firewood Association (firewood.asn.au) so that you minimise the carbon release from transport and preparation.
