Entertainment - Los Angeles, California, United States
Launched in July 1974 in Argentina by Pedro Felix Leda, Ledafilms S.A. is recognized as one of the leading media companies in Latin America, with offices in Buenos Aires and Los Angeles (through its subsidiary Independent International Television, Inc.)A few months after Ledafilms was launched, the company was appointed by Twentieth Century Fox International TV as its sales agent for Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia and Paraguay. The company worked with Fox for 22 years, up until 1996. In 1998 Ledafilms was appointed sales agent for DreamWorks SKG, a relationship which continued for 17 years, including from 2006 to 2015 when DreamWorks had been acquired by Paramount Pictures. At that time, Ledafilms became sales agent as well for Paramount Pictures for the next 9 years. During the same time period, the company continued to expand its independent library. When Lucasfilms decided to produce an animated spin-off of the "Star Wars" saga, they appointed Ledafilms in 2011 as their exclusive Latin American distributor for the new series. Establishing itself as one of the most prestigious companies in the entertainment business, Ledafilms was never shy to diversify and add, through the years, new activities related to their core business: from local production of programs and movies, distribution of films, U.S. series and animated programs, cable network programming, to the creation of its own Home Video label for children as well as comic book publishing. Today, more than forty years later, Ledafilms is still expanding by adding to its vast library high profile commercial theatrical titles distributed in cinemas throughout its territories and then made available for all downstream media markets including the different digital platforms (EST, TVOD, SVOD), Pay and Free Television. The company is continuously adding new content, focusing on high budget theatrical titles with A list cast.
