Government Administration - Leeds, England, United Kingdom
Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018 placed a duty on three agencies to work together and define the local Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements; the Local Authority (through Children and Families), Health (through NHS Leeds CCG Partnership) and West Yorkshire Police. It also placed a duty on other agencies to co-operate with the new arrangements. Our shared vision is for Leeds to be a child friendly city in which children and young people are safe from harm in their families, their communities and their neighbourhoods. We want Leeds to be the best city in the UK and the best city for children and young people to grow up in. Through our vision we invest in children and young people to help build an increasingly prosperous and successful city. The Leeds Best Council Plan 2018/19 – 2020/21 maintains the city's long-term ‘Best City' strategic focus on tackling poverty and inequalities through a combination of strengthening the economy and doing this in a way that is compassionate and caring, allowing us to give children the best start in life and support vulnerable children and families. All our work is underpinned by a consistent and co-ordinated approach to safeguarding as well as being collectively committed to a child and family centred focus on improving outcomes across the city. Children and young people, their welfare, protection and the promotion of their best interests are at the heart of everything the LSCP does.
