In 2004, the firm received its 8(a) status; approached the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to provide support and acquired two (2) five year federal contracts within three (3) months of obtaining its 8(a) status. These contracts were for Acquisition and Human Resource Support and enabled the company to immediately hire eight (8) employees. The firm provided outstanding support to this organization and within 2 ½ years acquired its third government contract under DHS providing warehouse and mail room support. Trevor L. Newman, LLC was nominated by DHS management and won the "2007 Department of Homeland Security- Small Business Achievement Award." In 2009, Trevor L. Newman, LLC, acquired a one-year contract with the Department of Defense, Navy providing Procurement Analyst support.
