Designers Céline Merhand and Anaïs Morel have worked together under the Les M label for three years. Graduating from the Rennes Regional School of Fine Art, their degree shows were sponsored by the VIA and displayed in the gallery of the same name in 2007.Spotted the following year during the St Étienne International Design Biennial, their creations were presented in Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro in 2009 as part of the year of France in Brazil.Nominated at the City of Paris "Grand Prix de la Création" in 2010, they exhibited their creations at the Maison et Objet trade show in September, and joined forces with the young Luxembourg design company Superette to create "Cocon" ,"an armchair with a new typology, the irrefutable union of a seat and a duvet leading to the most comforting seat" ! (Duende PR) Poetic without compromising their functionality, the objects created by Les M are inspired by and provide a new take on the rituals of everyday life. By carefully selecting materials which appeal to the sense of touch and which are combined with well thought-out shapes, Céline and Anaïs give life to balanced creations, easy to integrate into our daily lives due to their modularity. Both high-tech and comfortable, Les M's designs, often surprising, invite us to interact with the object and give free rein to our imagination.
