Arts and Crafts - New York, N/A, us
less than half covers the solo shows of female artists in New York City. Founded by Hall W. Rockefeller, it seeks to right the imbalance of representation in the highly competitive world of art. Roughly one third of gallery shows in the United States are given to women, prompting the realization (as the Guerrilla Girls stated in 1989) that we're "seeing less than half the picture without the vision of female artists and artists of color."
