Let There Be Light International (LTBLI) raises awareness about global Energy Poverty and donates solar lights to at-risk communities in sub-Saharan Africa. LTBLI works with 8 grassroots NGOs to provide pico lights to vulnerable families left out of market-based electrification programs in remote communities. Key programs in Uganda include the basic solar-electrification of prioritized rural health centers (41 in the past 6 years) and a program targeting new mothers called Safe Births + Healthy Homes. Safe Births + Healthy Homes provides new mothers in rural off-grid communities with a solar light for use at home after delivering at a solar-electrified health clinic. This innovative solar project is impacting the health, safety, economic stability and empowerment of off-grid rural women. Let There Be Light International is also working in Kenya and Malawi. Contact us for information about how you can join us in fighting #ClimateChange and #GlobalPoverty. Shine On!
