Nonprofit Organization Management - , Kerala, India
Kerala was the first Indian state known to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. "Let's Reach Out Kerala" (LROK) is an initiative born out of the urgent need to help address the concerns of Guest Workers (GWers) stranded during the nationwide lockdown. It is a collaborative project by the Centre for Livelihoods and Social Innovation (CLSI), TISS (Mumbai) and the National Health Mission, Ernakulam (under the "Aditi Devo Bhava" project). The project's strength lies in the working together of our Mentors, Advisory Members, over 200 volunteers and many State and Non-State personnel. It reaches out to the Guest Workers who are stranded in all districts of Kerala and many concerns in other states as well. We ensure needful support such as facilitating action to address issues related to accessibility and availability of food, the threat of eviction, emergency medical support, mental health support and provide relevant information regarding their rights in the current pandemic situation.
